Unique situations and hazards are often part of repair and restoration project. Recognizing and mitigating hazards, in order to ensure the safety of all involved is our top priority. Public safety and contractor safety are achieved with the skillful execution of well-planned events. Our exemplary safety record is one visible demonstration of Truesdell commitment to safety.
Truesdell Corporation partners with clients through all aspects of the early design stages by drawing on our vast experience to assist in creating an appropriate level of options for materials, methods of application, logistical matters, as well as staging and phasing plans.
Depending on the contract and the owner’s preference, Truesdell is often participates in the engineering on a project in varying roles. If the owner provides the engineer, Truesdell cooperate with that engineer supporting all stages of the project. If the owner prefers, Truesdell will engage or recommend engineer options. Often Truesdell will handle all aspects of the design and engineering by engaging the engineer directly.
Occasionally, before a repair can be designed, more information is required. Often Truesdell is hired to provide exploratory demolition or other services necessary to gather the information needed to design of repair, determine the extent of the damage, and to quantify the number of defects on a potential project.
What looks good on paper can potentially be dangerous, impossible, or inordinately costly to carry out in the real world. Truesdell often works with the design teams to verify constructability, safety, logistics, cost, and we can offer alternate methods where requested.
Cost is always a consideration for a potential construction project. Truesdell self performs a high percentage of the work on our projects, giving Truesdell a unique perspective, and an extensive cost database which allows us to help create budgets, even with limited or no details.
Contracts come in many varieties, each having its own advantages and disadvantages. Truesdell is able to utilize most of them, including: job order contract, design-build contract, guaranteed maximum price (GMP), CM at risk (CMAR), cost plus, design-bid-build, unit priced, and lump sum. Our team can help by offering the delivery method that provides the most confidence for the owner.
